Synology Updates Its Hybrid Share Platform, Says It Offers 80 Percent Faster Uploads
Synology was named to the 2024 MES Midmarket 100 list of top vendors and managed providers with offerings tailored to the midmarket.
Synology recently unveiled an updated version of its Hybrid Share platform, a storage and file system offering that allows users to sync multiple Synology network-attached storage devices across multiple sites and integrates with C2 Storage, the company's cloud-based storage service.
Hybrid Share 1.4.2 offers improved upload speeds, Synology said. According to the company:
For 52 TB of data, roughly 8,000,000 files, total upload time decreased by 67 percent.
For 23 TB of data, roughly 3,500,000 files, the total upload time decreased by 68 percent.
Upload time for 5,000 identical small files decreased from 16 minutes to 2.5 minutes, an 80 percent reduction.
Hybrid Share 1.4.2 's features include a web portal that gives users across sites access to files and folders, “high-performance” local caching that gives users quick access to files, scalability, military-grade encryption, and a Snapshots features that creates point-in-time copies of folders in case of ransomware attacks or accidental deletion.
Storage plans start from $69.99 per year, per TB or $6.99 per month, per TB.
