Wade Tyler Millward is a senior associate editor for CRN covering cloud computing and the channel partner programs of Microsoft, IBM, Red Hat, Oracle, Salesforce, Citrix and other cloud vendors. Wade graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Florida. He has written for newspapers, magazines, trade publications, broadcast media and online news outlets. Before joining CRN in 2021, Wade wrote about South Florida real estate for The Real Deal real estate trade publication. He covered the business of education for EdSurge, an online news outlet focused on education technology. And he covered multiple business sectors – including retail, industrial, cannabis and casinos – as a reporter with the Las Vegas Review-Journal daily newspaper. He was one of the first reporters on the scene of the October 2017 Route 91 shooting, the deadliest in modern U.S. history, and he continued to cover the shooting’s aftermath. Wade’s resume includes time as a business reporter with the Gaston Gazette – a daily newspaper in Gastonia, N.C. – and the Tampa Bay Business Journal in Tampa, Fla. His awards in journalism over the years include a 2020 Regional Bronze Award from the American Society of Business Publication Editors for a profile on India-based education app provider Byju’s; the Nevada Press Association’s 2018 Best Business Feature for an article on the buying and selling of memorabilia related to the Las Vegas shooting; the Nevada Press Association’s 2017 Best Business Spot News Story for an article about a minimum wage protest and, in 2016, second place for Beat Reporting from the North Carolina Press Association for his coverage of a local Freightliner plant. He lives in Oakland, Calif., with his partner, Courtney, two cats and a dog.
